Channeling vs Air Ele? What do you think?
Like the topic said, Channeling Ritualist and Air Elementalist do lightning damage. I tested the Channeling before to go at my job . I will show what is in my bar when I will come at home (Rit/R for now but thinking about Channeling).
During that, what do you think about Channeling and Air magic?
Combo between skills when you're Rit/E, E/Rit?
Which skills is good against another?
In all, leave a comment about this or try to make a combo.

I'm gonna do both. Ele/Ri. Energy Storage, spikes, and AoE spells. Haven't gotten to try it yet, though.... stuck playing "GW guru" while at school

Ok I got a build here for Rit/R
Channeling 12
Restoration 8
Beast mastery 10
Gaze from beyond
Spirit Light
Ancestor's Rage
Spirit Rift
Spirit Boon Strike
Flesh of my flesh
Charm animal
Comfort animal
Gaze from beyond need a spirit to work (which I have no spirit in my set) because you take the hp of the NEAREST spirit (any spirit no matter if it comes from the enemy). Dont worry if the spirit is from an allies when it losing HP, Spirit Boon Strike give HP to him when you near.
Spirit light to heal yourself (sacrifice 10% but you gain more)
Ancestor's Rage and Spirit Rift (my favorite combo). Look carefully for a group of enemy (generally when warriors clash into them) and cast Spirit Rift. After casting, select of of your allies ( I suggest melee char, which I use my tiger there) and cast Ancestor's Rage. after 3 second, foe from that area where you have casted Spirit rift receive lightning dmg and with Ancestor's Rage, all foe adjacant to him receive lightning damage.

I really like that combo!
I try to have aleast a few channeling skills in my bar, even if I'm playing binder. There is one that deals 70 (?) something damage and heals all of your spirits by that same amount. There is another that gives you 5 energy, and one that deals more damage if you have a spirit. I like channeling cause it seems to sync really well with the other Rit skills. I wouldn't really compare it to much with the ele because 1.) it doesn't deal as much damage and 2.) There are more AoE spells and 3.) none of them cause exshaustion. It's like comparing Peas and Carrots.

Compare seems to be a big word on what I wanted to say. Anyway, I experienced a little more and I tried this one
Channeling: 12
Beast Mastery: 10
Spawning: Rest pts
Gaze From Beyond (do 102 dmg)
Spirit Boon Strike
Spirit Rift (DUH) (do 96 dmg)
Ancestor's Rage (DUH) ( do 82 dmg)
Consume Soul (E)
Energizing Wind
Charm Animal
Confort Animal
ok,Spirits of Nature Ritual count as well as a spirit. I get EW for -15 energy (Spirit Rift becomes 10 now). As long you keep your spirit alive, you can spam easily these skills without problems (except interrupt and some things like this). Consume Soul (which I got it from a Yeti in Luxon territory) is writed: Target touched spirits is destroyed, all allies in the area is healed for X. I heal like 150-180 for everyone in area. You can use it to kill the enemies spirits too.

Ritualists are more well rounded but Elementalists' air magic has armor penetration.
Ritualists can resurrect and heal as well.

They look like Ele, Monk and Necro in one.
Well, at the end of the beta. My skills were:
Gaze from beyond
Ancestor's Rage
Spirit Rift
Consume soul (E)
Flesh of my flesh
Blood Song
Charm animal
Comfort animal
At least, I got a good spirit to attack and heal itself to use Gaze from Beyond.

I think Gaze from Beyound is a dangerous skill. If you do Commune/Channel, you can easily get a lot of damage out of it. But I like how you combo Rift and Rage. Reminds me of Surge + Orb. Obviously it's much less damaging but it's the same principle. I was thinking of trying the Channel Rt but it seems to me Channeling to an Rt is like Smiting is to Monks. Point being, I don't think it's where it's at for a Rt.

Gaze from beyond is like ignore target defense and does 102 dmg (If I remember correctly) it costs some HP from the nearest spirits too (Doesn't care the spirits is from the enemy ). Easy and fast Spam

Air Elementalists = precision missile
Channel Rits = land mine
Fun thing about Channeling, is it mixes in with the other Ritualist lines pretty well. Makes the Ritualists pretty versitle.

True. Mixing communing and Channeling to make a "stay attacker with your spirits". Gaze+Rif+Rage is over 200-250dmg in 3 sec.... but cost 30 energy all. Off course, I prefer to use only Rift+Rage at the same time and spam Gaze after that.

combo i used for my e/rt:cruel was daoshen+channeled strike+rift+rage+chain lightning+drop ashes=death
this combo worked wonders in 12v12 my daoshen=rift=rage was a quick 288 (if it does max dmg) dmg to all enemies in that area of effect and channeled strike does 10-106 to target foe so with just 4 skills im doing 154-394. add in chain lightning and your doing 164-464 to one target and 2 others nearby. everyone else nearby target foe takes 154-394. i can do this fairly quickly because i cast cruel was daoshen 15 secs befre battle so i can drop it immediatly makeing this one hell of a spike.

the real topic should be: combining channeling and air ele skills, because the two branches of magic are very diffrent but when used in cunjunction can be incrediably deadly. Precision land mine anyone?
